You've been at this spiritual/self development stuff for awhile now. You've been coached. You've done some deep inner work and healed some deep inner stuff. Overstuffed Facebook groups aren't your jam-- you prefer small and intentional groups or, even better, one-on-one conversations.
You're doing good. You've processed a lot of stuff. You're relatively balanced and feel pretty sane, most days. But you're still looking. Still searching . . . for something. A deeper thread. A stronger connection . . . to what? Your ancestors? The earth? Your guides? . . . God?
Hi! I'm Darla. Dreamworker, Sacred Darkness Explorer, Spiritual Mentor and Guide.
I work with women like you to help you deepen into a spiritual practice and a spiritual experience. One that is informed by all of the work you've already done and is guided by where you want to go.
Together we can:
- Explore your dreamscape to allow you to deepen into your subconscious and explore other realms of intelligence-- metaphorically and literally. Check out offerings around dreams here.
- Explore and heal your ancestral lineages to extend all of your self-healing to the generations. AND help you ground into the strengths and blessings of your lineage. Check out my ancestral offerings here.
- Deep dive into your personal sacred darkness-- the quiet and hidden bits that are intimidating and scary because you never know if it's going to be painful or marvelous or both. (It's usually both). Sacred Darkness is often best explored when you are at the threshold of a new life or a new beginning-- a period of transition: grief, divorce, motherhood, marriage, new career, etc. Check out shadow/sacred darkness offerings here.
Are you part of a minority culture or subculture? Do you somehow straddle two worlds?
One of my greatest passions is helping "minorities" settle into themselves and find some stability while learning to navigate their dual-citizenship status. This includes people who are bi or multi-racial, mono-racial living in a different dominant culture, people who fall somewhere outside of "hetero-normative" or otherwise feel like they have one foot in one world and another foot in a different world. I've spent my whole life straddling multiple worlds as someone who identifies as part Native, part white and grew up in her ancestral-- but thoroughly colonized-- homelands. In 2011 I earned an M.A. in intercultural communication where I focused on understanding how cultural identity and legacy is created and sustained in the face of a larger, different dominant culture. I've also experienced culture shock and integration from living in Spain for a year and having now lived in Costa Rica for six years and counting. If you can relate, check out this offering.

Here's some Darla-Trivia:
Cancer Sun, Leo Rising, Aries Moon. How this plays out for me: Cancer-- I'm a homebody, introvert and love nostalgia and looking back (hello ancestor work!). Leo-- In the right environment, however, I shine. I can take center stage and am a fearless public speaker. In fact, I taught public speaking at the University of New Mexico for five years. I was also senior class president in high school . . . there were 20 kids in my class. Thirteen of whom I had known since kindergarten. Again, right environment. Aries-- I am impatient, at times impulsive and want to do it first and do it best (pioneer)-- especially when it comes to the realms of the moon: dreams, shadows, ancestors and all.
I am, no surprise here, an INFJ.
INFJs tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this personality type can be found engaging in rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.
Now excuse me while I fall down a wormhole reading about myself (Leo).
I'm a mother to two little boys: Cuen, my little Libra with a Cancer Moon and Arlo, my little Cancer with a Libra Moon.
I fell in love with a redheaded Costa Rica and we live/homestead on an organic and sustainable farm, 10,000 feet above sea level (Cancer/Aries).
I grew up in Curlew, Washington, a blue-collar town of less than 1,000 people in my ancestral homelands. Both my mother and father also grew up in that town.
I'm the oldest of three girls (again: I want to do it first and do it best)
I have eulogized all three of my grandparents, the first when I was 15 years old (Leo rising again!). The fourth grandparent (mother's father) died when my mother was a little girl, otherwise I probably would have eulogized him too.
When I was four years old I knew that I would travel the world, live in a different country and need to speak Spanish. I've lived in Spain and now live permanently in Costa Rica.
Married at 22, divorced at 27.
